Kaveh Safavi, M.D., J.D. is the senior managing director for Accenture's global healthcare business. Dr. Safavi is responsible for developing and driving a growth strategy that differentiates Accenture's offerings for providers, health insurers, and public and private health systems across the globe.
In 2011, Dr. Safavi joined Accenture from Cisco, where he led the global healthcare practice. Prior to that, he was Thompson Reuter's chief medical officer of its Health Businesses and United Healthcare's vice president of medical affairs. He also has served in leadership roles at HealthSpring and Humana.
As a seasoned executive, Dr. Safavi brings more than three decades of leadership experience to Accenture Health including such accomplishments as establishing one of the Midwest's first electronic health record-enabled primary care practices. He has published numerous papers and is quoted on healthcare issues in various media publications, including the Wall Street Journal, BBC, New York Times, US News and World Report, Harvard Business Review, and the Economist.
Dr. Safavi serves as a member of the board of directors for Xcertia, an organization that supports industry guidelines for safe and effective mobile health apps. He’s also serves on the advisory committee of the Buck Institute for Research on Aging.
Dr. Safavi has earned the distinction of both medical and law degrees, an M.D. from Loyola University School of Medicine and a J.D. from DePaul University College of Law. He is board-certified in internal medicine and pediatrics and completed his residency at the University of Michigan Medical Center.
Susan Arcidiacono is the Chief Marketing Officer at Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP), one of the largest not-for-profit Medicaid and Medicare health plans that serves the more than 1.2 million residents of Riverside and San Bernardino counties in California. She has held her position at IEHP since August of 2008, and previously served as Marketing Director at both Health Net and CIGNA. Earlier in her career, she led the marketing departments of AOL and Adventist Health of Southern California.
Ms. Arcidiacono’s specialties include product development and management, brand development and management, market research, consumer and provider marketing strategy, digital marketing and video, sales, community relations, media relations, and corporate communications.
Ms. Arcidiacono holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from California State University, Los Angeles. She has also completed a Management Development Executive Program at the University of Southern California.
Outside of her role at IEHP, Ms. Arcidiacono is also a leader in the community. She is an active member of the Local Public Health Plans, the California Association of Health Plans, the Association for Community Affiliated Plans, the American Marketing Association, Health Care Executives of Southern California, the Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Association, and Women in Health Administration.
Amy Chateau is the Assistant Manager for Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine for Kaiser Permanente San Diego. She has over 14 years of experience in critical care nursing working for Kaiser Permanente’s medical group for both inpatient and outpatient services. She has been in ambulatory care and administration for the past 6 years and has a passion for patient-centered care that helps to drive practice and innovation for her teams. Ms. Chateau earned her MSN and MHA from the University of Phoenix.
Rachel Fournier is Director of Digital Product Management at Catasys. She has worked at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and data for over 20 years, digitally transforming and scaling healthcare delivery. She leads cross-functional product teams of clinicians, engineers, data scientists, and user experience designers to create holistic, outcome-driven solutions. She holds a B.S. in Science, Technology and Society from Stanford University and a Master and Doctor of Business Management from Henley Business School.
Erwin Jeong is the Clinical Operations Manager for the Medicare Medication Therapy Management and Medication Adherence programs for Kaiser Permanente Southern California. He obtained his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Pacific and completed a residency in ambulatory care pharmacy with the University of Southern California. He held an assistant professor position with USC School of Pharmacy, practiced as an ambulatory care pharmacist working under collaborative practice agreements with physicians, and worked as the drug education coordinator. He has presented on the topic of Medication Therapy Management at numerous national pharmacy conferences.
Winston Lai is the Strategic Projects, Performance Improvement, and Innovation Leader for Kaiser Permanente San Diego. He has over 15 years of experience in performance improvement working for Kaiser Permanente’s health plan, hospitals, and medical group at the local and regional levels in southern California leading projects in quality, access, service, and affordability. Mr. Lai earned his MPH in Health Management from Yale University and his Bachelor of Science in Biology from MIT.
Sagar Makanji joined Magellan Rx Management (MRx) in 2012 and is currently vice president of Clinical Programs, where he leads the design, implementation, and management of clinical initiatives for health plans across the country. His primary focus is quality improvement programs that enhance the level of care for several disease states including diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, and asthma with a key emphasis on CMS Star Ratings and HEDIS quality measures. Mr. Makanji is also responsible for developing innovative strategies in order to maximize patient engagement and outcomes for various population segments including commercial, Medicaid, and dual-eligibles. Part of his role also includes developing strategic partnerships in order to enhance clinical program offerings in the marketplace for all lines of business.
Donna Stanislawski is an Advanced Practice Nurse with extensive experience in women’s healthcare, clinical research, patient education, and nutrition. She joined IlliniCare Health in 2018 as a subsidiary of Centene Corporation. She currently manages the Quality Outreach Team and is responsible for development and oversight of multimodal technologies to increase member engagement and HEDIS rates, coordinating community health fairs and managing the Consumer Satisfaction Survey. Prior to joining IlliniCare Health, she managed the perinatal care program for Family Health Network in Chicago, worked as a nurse in the safari industry in Botswana and served as Peace Corps Volunteer. While working as the HIV Clinical Nurse Specialist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, she was the 2001 recipient of the March of Dimes Nurse Leadership Award. Ms. Stanislawski holds a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics, Nutrition, and Food Sciences from Northern Illinois University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Rush University, and a Master of Science in Nursing from Rush University.
Kristi Tague is the Support Services Supervisor for Gastroenterology and Medical Office Administrator for the Garfield Specialty Center in San Diego. She has over 15 years of experience with Gastroenterology in Kaiser Permanente San Diego. For the last 3 years, she has been involved in performance improvements for our department. Ms. Tague earned her Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from University of California San Diego.
Jacqueline Thong has led the design and launch of Docent Health’s digital service in collaboration with mPulse Mobile, including the integration of mPulse Mobile’s text engagement functionality within the Docent Health platform. She has over 15 years of experience in healthcare technology, in roles ranging across product management, operations, and client engagement. Ms. Thong has spent much of her career creating new products and services across several areas of the healthcare industry, including remote care coordination for healthcare providers at Klio Health, as well as patient-reported outcomes measurement for pharmaceutical clinical trials at CRF Health. Originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, she holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and information systems from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from INSEAD.
